Date: 20-02-2026 10:45
Location: Universidade de Évora
On February 20, 2026, Praxis: Centre for Philosophy, Politics, and Culture at the University of Évora will host a conference titled "Kinesis: Aristotle in Heidegger," as part of the Permanent Seminar on Phenomenology. The keynote speaker will be Professor Carmen Segura Peraita from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Professor Segura’s presentation will focus on the Heideggerian interpretation of Aristotle, exploring the central role of kinesis in the development of Heidegger’s thought—from his 1921 seminars to his 1939 monograph, "On the Essence and Concept of Physis: Aristotle, Physics B, 1." This event offers a unique opportunity to delve into one of the less visible yet most fertile axes of Heidegger’s philosophical formation and its impact on contemporary reflection.
The conference will take place in the Faculty Lounge (Sala dos Docentes) at the Colégio do Espírito Santo – University of Évora, starting at 10:45 AM.
